Our goal in the Michigan Aurora Chasers is to help people in Michigan and surrounding areas chase, photograph and experience the Northern Lights. We welcome people of all experience levels and backgrounds, and our Live Sightings hosted on Facebook and elsewhere do a fantastic job of alerting others when the Aurora is present.
The Michigan Aurora Chasers group was founded on January 20, 2021 by Melissa F. Kaelin. The group is known for its engaging events, including the Michigan Aurora Chasers Workshop held annually and the #LiveChase, which brings people together to chase the Northern Lights as a group on nights when it is more likely to reach the mid-latitudes.
Our talented community has been featured in local, state and national news, and our lead team have been invited to speak and give workshops around the state, the country, and the world. Anyone is welcome to tap our resources to help them in their pursuit of the beautiful Aurora.
